In November 2008, a lady approached me who had a teen aged daughter. She had bought a flat which she had got at a dirt cheap price. Happy to know that she had a good bargain, she was unaware of what lay in store for her. She got the flat renovated and on an auspicious day, performed a puja, invited close acquaintances and arranged for a sumptuous dinner for all.
By 9:30 pm, all the guests had left and the mother-daughter duo were also tired. The changed their clothes and headed for the bed after putting off the lights except for a night bulb.Within moments of laying on the bed, they were startled to hear someone dancing with ankle bells in the other room. They were frightened. They tried to muster courage to go to the other room. But before they could rise from the bed, the heard the sound approaching towards their room. They could see nothing but they could distinctly hear the sound of the ankle bells moving all around their bed. The duo, frightened, could not know what to do. They embraced each other tightly, seeking courage for each other. In this way, they did not come to know, when they fell asleep.They got up at 8 in the morning and headed straight to a maulvi who was their acquaintance and renowned for voo-doo things. He gave them an amulet each and said that the spirit would come no more. Needless to mention that a heavy cost had to be paid for the amulet. The amulet could do nothing. The sound now moved along as fiercely as ever. The woman went every where that people told. But it all, drew a naught.
Someone referred her to me. With the powers blessedly received from the Almighty, the spirit was asked why it was disturbing. It was the spirit of a dancer who lived in that flat and had committed suicide. She said she was hungry and needed vegetarian food.
The woman was advised to provide the food twice a week at the designated spot. Which she did the very night. That night, the spirit roamed around outside the flat and after two months, it left the place.
Science has a lot of things to say about the non existence of ghosts. What reply can they give ?
